    The need for Payment Gateways

    If you're setting up a new portal, one of the most common requirements is the ability to accept payments. This requires the configuration of a payment gateway - A payment gateway provides secure processing of online transactions, into your business banking account. 


    The Janison CLS already makes it really easy to connect to many of the popular payment gateways (i.e. PayPal, Comm Web, PayWay), and most of these gateways all require similar details and processes to work correctly.


    What is involved in setting up a Payment Gateway?

    A payment gateway is generally the product of an external financial services provider, so a good place to start would be looking at what services your bank offers around processing online payments. This normally involves using a special bank account, called an 'Internet Merchant Account' to enable the settlement of online transactions.

     

    The Janison CLS supports a wide range of payment gateways - However, it is advisable you confirm with Canopi, to ensure your payment gateway is supported. 

     

    The configuration of most payment gateways, commonly require the following details:

    • API Username / Merchant ID
    • API Password
    • API Key / Certificate

     

    The necessary details should be provided by the external financial services provider delivering your payment gateway solution.


    What do I need to do?

    It is advisable to contact Canopi to determine which payment gateways are support by the Janison CLS, then determine which of these payment gateways will best work for your organisation - Once a payment gateway has been chosen, Canopi will provide you the exact details required to configure the payment gateway on the CLS.

     

    In some circumstances, calling the provider delivering your payment gateway is the best way to get all the details required for a working solution.

    Once you have provided the necessary details to Canopi, the configuration will be implemented and tested on the CLS, so that payments are processing correctly and that the solution is working as desired.
